Hello Everyone,
Just a few count down days for you all:-
24 days till Creative ever day of November starts (I am definitely doing this again) see here for details.
35 days till November 11th – Remembrance Day
79 days till Christmas
86 days and we will be in 2011
108 days till I celebrate my 27th birthday
And Lastly 451 days and we will be in year 2012.

Now onto my 26 things I want to do in 2010 – seeing as I only have 85 days to complete them all……..(see side bar for my list)
Item 26 – am definitely having lots of fun this year.
Item 25 – Haven’t taught him to dance properly but have had a few part dances listening to the radio
Item 23 – Have slightly changed this one – am not completing her 100 ideas but am working through a couple of her books which are the same concept
Item 22 – have completed this one a few time now and still have three rallies to go (that I know of)
Item 21 - …………………. Maybe next year
Item 20 – didn’t get to attend Trilby due to cancelation – but was able to catch up with a few of the girls for the day.
Item 19 – I am up to book 23 or 24
Item 17 – I still have six items to complete
Item 16 – Have created six mini albums and have two more I would like to try (maybe today due to it being cold and wet)
Item 15 – Slowly completing the Album am up to page 8.
Item 14 – have all written journaling ready in the rings, just need to print the photos……
Item 13 – One more trip to go – hopefully a camping/fishing trip in December
Item 11 – Have joined an online class, which I am looking forward to doing. Will show photos when I can. I am also participating in Art Every Day Month in November. So that will be four challenges for the year
Item 8 – have all the cupboards and stuff for the new walls, just need hubby to have time to help me pull it all out and put it all back together.
Item 7 – Have the paint just need the time.
Item 5 – Due to all the lovely rain we have been having this spring the lawn around the house has taken off by it’s self.
Item 4 – I changed this to 8 x 8 inch pages and completed one each day in September for my scrap journal entries.
Item 3 – I have missed two months out of 10 so not doing to bad.
Item 1 – Haven’t used everything but my stash is starting to look neater.

I will have to start thinking about what I would like to achieve next year – 27 things – half will be similar to this year and other things will be new or a bit more challenging/easy.
Today has the feel that it is going to be cold and wet so I think a day of crafting is in order.

HAPPY SPRING

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE

Yes I know that it is the fourth of September, but due to work commintments and the fact that there is never enough hours in the day to complete everything I haven't had time to update on the first of september when I wanted to.

Any way moving on. This morning/last night around midnight I wole to the lovely sound of rain on the roof. A sound that I will never tirer of hearing. So far we have had 40 points (or 10ml for those who don't understand points) and it's only just gone 6.40am. The weatherman might be right for once and we will have our 20 to 30 ml today.....I said might be as we were suppose to have 10 to 20 ml yesterday.....

As I said before I have been busy working and for a week and a bit in August Jason and I both came down with a flu/cold/virus/annoying thing and we were both bed ridden due to lack of energy. I didn't even feel like doing my daily journal so I was really crock.

Enough writing here are some random photos from July and August.

Out wood cutting with Jason and I found this green frog inside the hollow of the tree trunk. He had to crawl not quite a metre to get to where he was compared to the where the opening was in the log. Must have been nice and warm inside.

Over the Louth Races weekend (the weekend the races didn't happen) a friend of ours, son came up from victoria in a plane and we were lucky enough to go for a fly over Louth and the surrounding area. I had a great time while I was up in the air but on the last corner turning into the air strip I felt really really sick. When I hoped out of the plane I was very pale and needed a few minutes to collect myself before i could move. Apart from that I couldn't get over the view and how green everything is and the contrast between the red soil and the black flood plains.

One way that Jason and I tried to get better while we were sick was to go down to the river and sit and relax on the water's edge with a few fishing rods in. Very relaxing - I was just like a little child playing in the sand.

The only creativity that I have made were these two cards that I was getting ready to take to the Trilby Scrapbooking weekend. Unfortunatley due to lack of numbers the weekend had to be cancelled. (so item number 20 on my to do list can not be completed)

Talking about my 26 things list I have enrolled for another on line challenge this month so that now means item 11 will be completed. Also item number 12 has been completed - even though their birthdays haven't happened yet I have made all the cards that I need to so they are ready to post come the right time.

Going for a boat ride to see how high the river has been rising. At the moment it is around 4metres (normal hieght around 1 metre) With all this rain it will hopefully go up even more.

It's Official It's Winter.........

Now before you say anything about that's it's the first of July not the first of June and it's the second month of winter not the first month so how can it be officially winter! That is easy. We have been having beautiful weather all through June with the days being warm enough to where just a long sleeve shirt without a jumper then two days ago we had our first real frost for the winter. It was minus 5 degrees outside and the frost stayed around for a while. Now the weather has been cold and you need to either stay out of the wind and in the sun or have jumpers on.Here are some photos I took.

Now onto some other things I have been up to. It has been over two months since I last blogged and that is due to helping Jason with mustering for shearing (where he works not for ourselves)as well as helping with the yard work. That was for the whole of May and by the time I was getting up at 5.30 most mornings and not getting back till around 6 at night the last thing I wanted to do was sit in front of a computer. One thing I enjoy about working with Jason and the times I work I get to see some really beautiful scenes.

Here are a few of my favourites.

When I last blogged we had not long got our wood heater in the house. Friends of ours helped Jason put the heater into place. I left for work at the school with a lounge room wall. I came home to this.

There is a logical reason as to why they did what they did - roof would fall down if wall was removed completely. I can live with a frame wall until we have time to put in a proper stucture in. I love wood heaters and while I am writing this I am watching the flames flicker.

I was lucky enough to be home with the camera to capture these two photos of the full moon on the rise.

Lucky last photo - this is the only craft, creativity I have done for the last two months. I found some small pots of left over paint from an art work I did and decided to use them up before trowing out the pots. Not very exciting I now but I enjoyed it.

I have a pile of activities from "Tell your Story" that I still want to do but at the moment time just seems to be not avaiable for me. Maybe during the school holidays.

Seeing as we are half way thorugh the year I should do an update on my 26 things to do list. Here goes.

Item 3 - still doing this May was self portraits, June was all things to do with winter and July will be parts of my everyday life.

Item 7 - Paint will be purchased next trip to dubbo - have choosen my colours.

Item 8 - I have all the cupboards to put the kitchen in I just need to get the paint and the lino for the floor. Next trip to Dubbo they will be in the ute.

Item 17 - have one cross stitch, one tapestry, and one painting under way from out of my box.

Item 19 - Am up to 12 books.

Item 22 - Helped out at our local field day which was a great success but it was a long day.

What a Day.........

What started out as a day to do the normal house work. Ended up with me moving the office/scrapbooking corner out of the spare room onto the verandah. While moving the office/scrapbooking table to the verandah I moved the verendah around.

HELLO MAY...

It's May already... Where are the months going? Where is the year going? Soon we will be half way through the year..... This month is going to go by very quick as I am working the majority of it with time at the local school and working with Jason mustering for shearing. On top of that we are going away for a couple of nights (camping out) to met up with our friends who are traveling to Longreach and back to here. We were going to go but due to me working we couldn't go :-(. Am a bit sad about this but it can't be helped.

Now for some completly random photos: -

I love the cooler nights sitting around the camp fire. In this photo I am writing in my daily journal - a new one for May.

Another Month, Another Journal, Another Memory made.

It's not very clear in this photo but I am holding a very small wild piglet. We were driving home and came across a sow and her babies. As much as I like piglets I don't like what they do to the baby lambs once they grow up. Needless to say I didn't keep this one......

We finally have our new wood heater. Stage one is complete, heater is in one piece and in the lounge room roughly where we want it. By stage five we might be burning wood in it. Hopefully the nights stay the way they are and we won't need to light it for a while.

Elsie made a comment about the weekend being a good time to get the creative juices flowing. I had to laugh I seem to find more time in my working week then on weekends Amybe because I scheldule craft into my monday to friday daily routine where on the weekend I don't......

I have been wanting to use material in my journals for a while now and just haven't but now I am using my collection of "just cause I like the pattern" material on my pages. Thanks again for a great class and prompts.

For this one we needed to write our most inner thoughts. Well I didn't want to show every one what I had written so I have made a secret pocket for my Deep Down thoughts to be hidden from view.

This page has been decorated with colour patches out of paint catolgues. I have been trying to decide what colour I am going to paint the kitchen, lounge room and office so have paint catolgues every where. Still not sure what colour I am going to paint them - to many to choose from.....

A bit of everything

Being Creative with Tigger today...

First Off - The view I had this morning while having my coffee...
I love mail days - espically when big boxes arrive, catalogues and magazines with no bills to be seen.

This is the cross stitch pattern that was on the front of the Fox Collection Catalogue. I would so love to have this hanging in my house but I don't think I would have the time or paticence to complete it.

Had a look at the Creative Every Day Website and this months theme was the five senses. I wish I had more time with this theme as I love to journal/record things using my senses. Here is a part of my journalling from my daily journal.

Evening walk thorugh my Five Senses.

Smell - the smell of still water that is starting to have an algae smell to it, the smoke from the wood fires that are starting to be lit due to the cooler weather.

Sound - kookaburras laughing out loud as I walk past, the crickets moving in the grass

Touch - the cool night air starting to drift in amoung the trees, the mozzies that are stinging me as I walk along

Sight - blue, purple, pink, orange sky always changing as the sunsets, birds flying from tree to tree settling down for the night

Taste - the coolness in the air with a smokey taste about it, the fly that flew in my mouth much to my disgust......

Next months theme is - Intuition........

The Next Pictures are all to do with the Class "Tell your Story" so all credits go to Elise and Rachel. I am enjoying this class as it has already made me try new things I wouldn't normally do.

I have seen this done before and have never tried it because I thought it would be hard. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be but it wasn't easy either.

The material is some of the stuff that I had tie dyed myself. This is my favourite colour combo.

Week In A Life Finished

Here are the last of my Week In My Life entires. I still haven't written on them but I will when I have more time..... When ever that will be.....

Saturday 24th April -
The page is blank as I forgot to print out my photos that I put in the show and I will be sticking the certificates in here as well. The ribbons will go in the box along with the other ones I have received.

Found the dog in the pictures walking along the road when we came home from Bourke. Luckly Jason knew who owned it so we could return her.

I love StarBurst Lollies and I am loving how they have done their packaging to sponsor Camp Quality.

Sunday 25th April - ANZAC DAY - Lest We Forget.

Went to the local evening service. There was a good crowd which was good.

Sunday Morning was spent planting my new trees/srubs that I picked up at the show. One is a Bottle Brush mauve in colour, One is a Showy Honey Murtle with cream flowers and the other is a Hairy Wattle which is bright yellow so hopefully if the all survive I will have a very colourful garden.

I also planted some vegies and used up the sunflower seeds.

We now have a new cool room at the Tennis/community shed. The cool room will be very helpful when it comes to catering for rallies and our local events.

I have also finished my first page layout for "Tell Your Story" which starts tomorrow. I am looking forward to this on line class. I don't know how I will go with keeping up with all the pages the two girls have planned along with my studies and work but I will see how I go.

Not exactly how they said to do the pages but I didn't have some of the items and seeing as I am not buying anything new and want to use up what is in my craft drawers (item number 1 on my 26 things list) so I improvised a bit.

Well that's it for today. washing machine is beeping at me so had better go hang out the clothes.

ANZAC DAY - Lest we forget.

ANZAC DAY - a day to remember those who have fort for us in wars across the world. Take time out today to remember those who have fallen for us.

We didn't have a dawn service today but will be remembering those in our service this afternoon at five.

LEST WE FORGET.

Went to the Bourke Show yesterday. Very disappointed. I must admit it was late afternoon when I went but it just ...... Don't know what to call it but apart from finding out how my art work went I was disappointed

I did bring three trees home which I was given. So I am now thinking about where I am going to plant them.

Here are my art works that I entered in the fine arts section - three thirds out of four entries - I am happy with the results.

This one recieved fifth out of seven.

They are not 100% finished as I am still going to add more journalling on and around the photos, just have to wait till I go to town today a by a new pen for writing on photos (ink dried up in old one due to lack of use and lid not being on properly - Note to self make sure pen lids are on tight...)

Not much today as I had to go to work at the local school and didn't take my camera due to privacy act.

This poem - which I will type out if you can't read it is one that I have liked for a long time - I found it in a magazine at the school after work and copied it. Unfortunatly I could only copy in black and white so imagine the page full of very bright colours.

Friday 23rd

Have had a sore throat and head ache and runny nose so most of the day was spent in bed either sleeping or watching craft dvds or Looney Tunes Cartoons.

Well that's it for me today. Bourke show is on so might head into town and have a look around and see how my art work went.

Item 9 on my 26 things I want to do in 2010 - I only entried 4 art works instead of six. I completed five but was not happy with the drawing so didn't send it.

Will post my pictures here when I get them back.

Only four more days till "Tell your story" classes start. I am so looking forward to this. Something different for me to try. Will post pages when I have a chance.

Day one of "A week in my life"

HI Everyone

Well I have started my "A week in my Life" challenge which I have seen on Ali Edwards blog http://www.aliedwards.com/.

I know that I keep a daily journal, but this is something a little extra. Normally I only document parts of my day or week where for this week I am documenting a lot more about what I do each day.

Here is my entry for Monday 19th of April. The pages are not completely finished as I still have more journalling and other bits and pieces to add to them.

I also started my "Tell your story" class that Elise and Rachel are running. So anything I do for "Tell your story" credit goes to these two very creative ladies.

Here is my first page. It is not complete as I am waiting on paint and glue to dry before adding more inforamtion to it.

Any way that's it for me for this blog.

One free week from Uni Study time to blog

HI Everyone.

Well to start with item 21 on my 26 things I want to do in 2010 is not happening as much as I would like it to be. I had great plans at the start of the year to blog on a regular basis along with studying by corrospondance for my Degree in Early Childhood at uni and working part time with Jason.

Turns out Jason needed me for nearly the full month of Feb and March to work. Don't get me wrong I love the work espically when I have views like this while on the motorbike.

Only problem is they were long days so when I got home apart from cooking dinner I didn't feel like doing much else.

For those of you who don't know this is a Mulga Spider. They build very large and strong webs in mulga trees and around scrub. They and in the hundreds out where we have been mustering and give a nasty bite if need be. Funny story (well i can laugh about it now) I did the strip in the middle of the paddock due to one of these guys. Riding through some thick scrub following a mob of sheep and had to turn a sharp turn to avoid a large tree scrub, well in avoiding the scrub I rode straight into one of these guys webs with the spider hitting me right in the middle of the face. Well the motor bike was dropped and the shirt and singlet came off, making sure the spider didn't stay where it was not wanted. So here I am in the middle of the scrub with only my jeans and bra on, with the motor bike lying on it's side. Jason was very disappointed that he didn't get to see me.

So along with working with Jason and completeing my first two Uni essay's I haven't had much time for anything else apart from a few words here and there in my daily journal.

Today I have finished all my house work. Have put on my green thumb and planted some bulbs seeing as it is such a lovely day and have now made myself a cup of my favourite coffee and decieded it is time to update my blog. So here I am.

So much has happened since I have last written and not much has happened at all.

As I said I am studying for my Uni Degree in Childcare, which I have wanted to do for a while now. It is a lot harder then I thought it was going to be - well harder then the last three TAFE courses I have done but I have sent my first two essay's off and now have two weeks where I don't have to worry about reading any modules or researching so I am going to catch up on my 26 things I want to do in 2010. See side bar for my list.

Item 18 - Here is the book shelf I purchased. All of the journals are there for the last five years. My Scrapbooks and my mini Albums are on a different book shelf. I love how they are now out in the open so that any one who comes to visit can take them out and flick through

them or Jason and myself can look at what we have done since we have been going out.

Item 3 - I don't have any photos for this as they are in the book already but am still going with this, so far my themes have been Jan - nature up close, Feb - The story they could tell, Mar - drink any one, April - ABC of my daily life and for May i have chosen self portraits with a view.

When scanner is working will show you all how I am recording these photos.

Item 10 - I have been walking every night for the majority of the year with another lady in town. I am now needing a belt on my jeans so must be slimming down.

Item 11 - Have signed up for another class by Elsie - Telling my Story - sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Will also be joining in with Ali and her Week In Life Challenge. Find out more here http://abeautifulmess.typepad.com/my_weblog/ and here http://www.aliedwards.com/

Item 12 - So far everyone who has celebrated a birthday in my family or close friends have recieved a hand made card and they all love them.

Item 17 - have finished one cross stitch and have nearly finished my clown tapestry that I started when I was in year 10 (1998) will photography when I have finished

Item 19 - I have just finished reading these six books - five by Keri Smith and the other by Ralph Fletcher. I am so inspired but what I have read in these books that I am going to have to try some of the ideas myself.

Jigsaw Puzzle collection - By the Water hole. Completed these two 500 pieces and middle one 1500 in one week. they are now hanging above our bed.

End of January Already...

My Pot Of Gold

The end of January already. So much for me wanting to blog on a regular basis. I must admit I have been away for nearly all of the month and haven't had internet connections.
So what has happened this year so far:-

Jason and I went away for a holiday at the start of January for 9 days to South Australia, then Victoria then Home. We did over 3000km but it was fun.
Had lots of relaxing times catching up with family and friends and seeing/visiting places for the first time.

While away we travelled through Echuca and I was like a child in a candy shop. At the water front in Echuca they make their own (in separate shops)

YUMMY. Will definitely have to visit there again.

While we were away we sold our sea boat and during the cleaning of the boat Jason found a bees nest. This was how much honey comb was in the nest. I have brought it home and might try and make bees wax candles. Any one have any ideas as to how to create them?

Once we were home, for two days, we then went and looked after our friends property for 10 days.
Apart from watering the garden and feeding the animals I didn't have much to do so I completed these two pictures

They were both very realxing to complete. I have to more colour by numbers which I want to do this year. (item 17 on my 26 to do things)

Old glasses and bottles are in at the moment for decorating the house. While I was walking around the property we were looking after I came across these ones, and while I was in town I was able to purchase all the plastic flowers for $1 (due to them not having stems) but I figured that steel wire would look better in the bottles and glasses any way). They now are sitting on my book case at the end of the lounge room.

I have also created all of these magnets. I was sick of looking at the boring magnets on my frideg so I created these ones using magnet tape and odds and ends out of my drawers. (item 1 on my 26 to do list) I haven't emptied my drawers yet but I did clean the out and I have four drawers out of six with items in them and one of those has stamps so I really only have three drawers left with items in them to use.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

it's the last day of 2009. Where has the year gone? So much has happened this year, some happy memories, some sad, some that make me laugh still, others that bring a tear to my eye but overall it was a good year.

Now on to 2010. I haven't made any new year resolutions as I know I can't keep them. So for 2010 I have taken an idea from Elise who makes a list of things that she wants to do before her next birthday comes around, so I have created a list of 26 things I would like to do before the end of 2010.

I have included my list in my side bar and each time I complete one I will date it and mark it off. I also have a hard copy stuck up on the wall in front of my desk to help keep me on track.

Also for 2010 (which Jason says he will believe it when he sees it and probably all you scrap-bookers out there will say the same thing) I am not allowed to buy any new scrap booking supplies until 2011. Apart from adhesive, ink cart's and paper for printing my photos onto I am not buying anything new.

The reason for this you ask? See my last post about recycling stuff and having too much Stuff.
I know people out there will say you can't have to much stuff but I do. I have stuff I don't even remember when I purchased, which is not good. So until 2010 I will not be buying anything new.

I finally Finished My Summer Cleaning. The house looks now like some one lives in it full time and cares about the place. Jason glad as it has been over a week since we have been able to walk in the front door with out having to step over boxes and tables. I just about have my new scrap booking corner set up with everything I need in reach and easy to access which will help me use my stuff up next year.

Two things before I sign off for 2009. Our beautiful Darling River Finally has water back in it and flowing water (one metre so far) as well. Shame the water hadn't come from local rains but it is still here. (For those of you who don't know you could have walked across the river in many places before this flow came down in the early hours of the morning)

And lastly I have chosen one little word for 2010. It's something that I found a few years ago about choosing one little word and using it to help you through the year. This year my word was Halcyon (which means to relax and take things slow). This year I have chose "BE". Why Be? It can mean so many things, Be Happy, Be patient, Be strong, Be sad, Be content and the list goes on. So throughout 2010 you will see my word appear ever now and then in my works.

That's it for me for 2009. I am going away with Jason for nearly the whole of January so will blog when I return home.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, Creative Everyday, New Scrap Corner

Firstly

MERRY CHRISTMAS

to everyone.

I hope you all had a great day where ever you were. We were lucky enough to have some rain on Christmas Eve and a little bit on Christmas Day. Only 65points but it's a start. It is still over cast today and has the feeling that it could come in and storm. I have hung washing on the line to dry so knowing my luck it will come in and rain.

Jason and I had to go and check the animals at the place we are care taking and due to the rain had to go on the bike. This was the result ............

Ingore the date on the photo. Jason's mum took the photos for us on her camera and she hasn't reset the date since changing the batteries. It was a long trip but it was also lots of fun.

Didn't have a Christmas tree this year. We were going to have a real one but time got away from us so in the end I decorated the wall above where I put the presents. I think it looks very effictive and the best bit it is doesn't take long to take down afterwards.

This is the photo opportunity that I was greeted with this morning when I went out the back door. They look so sweet and innocent looking over the top of the outside lounge seat but in reality they were chasing each other around like puppies do jumping and playing on the lounge. As long as they don't chew the seat covers I don't mind :-)

It's not clean by any means and I still have lots to do but here is my new scrap corner. As you can see from the pictures I have a lot of natural light on my desk (which I am loving) where before I had my back to the windows.

This months Creative Everyday theme was Recycle. For this theme I am recycling all my old scrap booking stuff and giving them new life and using them in my scrap journal.

I have also recycled my scrap journal by using an old diary I was given that I didn't use.

The Diary is sitting in the middle of my desk and the "mess" around the diary is the first lot of scrapbooking stuff I am using.

I am liking using my old supplies and giving them a new life that I think for my January scrap journal I will again use an old diary that I was given and contiune to recycle my supplies.

The following is a picture of the drawers taken out of the chest of drawers in the corner of the room. When I took these out I didn't realise I had so much "stuff" that I have bought and not used so one of my new years resolutions is to not buy any more "stuff" for my scrap journals until I have used what I have already got.

As Lorraine Bate says on the Scrapbook Creations DVD No. 4 - we have bought the items because we like them, we now need to use them instead of keeping them in the drawers.

These may look like buttons staked on top of each other - which they are - but I have stuck magnet strips on the back of them and now have funky new fridge magnets.

In my last blog entry I said I would scan some of my pictures in that I had drawn/sketeched while on the motor bike working with Jason.

Well here they are.

Some aren't very clear, this is due to the diary being very bulky and the scanner lid not being able to close properly.

Two days till Santa Comes

Where has the time gone? It has been nearly a month since I have written and I haven't completed anything on my list that I want to complete before Christmas.
Most recent things I have been doing: -

Playing with my camera setting while checking waters on the property we are looking after over Christmas
Swimming in the river keeping cool on the hots days we have been having.
The cows on the place we are looking after didn't like Milo (Jason's dog) so they came closer to scare him away, They scared me more then they scared Milo.

The cool colours in the high tops that have been building up for the last two days. They are predicting rain for us over Christmas so lets hope they are right.

Onto other things

It's a bit hard to do things on my list when I am out helping Jason on the property that he works. We were leaving at 4 in the morning so that we could be out int the paddocks ready to muster the sheep as soon as it was day break and Jason's boss could see in the plane. The only good thing about being up this early is that I saw some beautiful sun rises and a beautiful moon set. I wasn't going to take my good camera on the bike with me and my old smaller camera didn't have any batteries. So I was unable to record any of the sunrises on film. I did manage to sketch some of the views in my little pocket note book that I had on the bike with me. Hopefully when my new scanner arrives today – old one doesn't like my new laptop – I will be able to scan the pictures in and show you.

Now onto some random photos from while we have been away picking up Jason's new ute and from my Family Christmas dinner that we had early due to Jason and I spending Christmas in Louth with his Mum.

Hasn't my niece Amy grown. I can't believe that she is now eight months old – where does the time go?

Ryan (my nephew) loves to read books and he loves his Uncle Jason so while we were cleaning the mess up Ryan read books to Jason.

I gave Ryan two little plastic frogs that when you push down on them they jump. Well come dessert time the frogs appeared on the table and I don't know who had more fun with them Ryan or the rest of us. The frogs some how kept landing in the dessert bowls....... Lots of Laughs. On returning from Narromine Mum and Dad cleaned out their storage container and we brought home my crystal cabinet and a desk. As well as five boxes of memories for me to sort through, and a box of novels.

When we got home the desk didn't fit where I wanted it to fit so I have had to have a major clean up and move around in the my craft corner/spare room.

I still haven't finished moving things around hence there is no after photo. Hopefully today or tomorrow I will be able to finish organising the house as we will hopefully have visitors after Christmas and at the moment they have no where to sleep.

Totally Random Entry

Well this would have to be a surprise blog entry. I have been able to access my blog on the school computer so thought I would blog with what ever I had here at work. The following are a mixture of AEDM creativenss along with some totally random things. Sit back and enjoy. Lots of Photos. :-) :-)

Favourite photo at the Moment.

These two piglets were near the water trough that Jason was cleaning. The mother pig and two other piglets ran away but these two were quite happy staying in the water over flow. I like the colours, but Jason informs me they will grow out of that colour as they become older. Shame they look so cute.
Have wanted to try this stlye of book mark for a while now and the other day I finally did and I am very surprised at how easy it was to create. Will be making more of these in the near future I think.

Saw this Swan while helping Jason out on the place he works. Thye are such graceful birds. I could have watched him for hours.

These Rainbow Bee Eaters come in for a drink from the pool. This day I decided to see how good my camera is, and I have to say I am very happy with the results condersing that the birds were over 50 metres away.

The day I took these photos was very HOT 46 degrees C. The birds were all flying around with their beaks open that's how hot it was.

In these photos I was trying to capture the little headed birds which are called Crimson Chats. They are very hard to capture on camera as they fly away with the slightest sound/disturbance. In the end I managed to capture three of them and one near the puddle from the sprinkler.

Saw this idea in a craft magazine and thought I would give it a try. Me Mosaic. All the squares represent something about me at the moment. Wether it be colours I like, things I do, food I enjoy or flowers I like.

Rainbow of squares. This was created using coloured textured squares out of six different magazines, Food Ideas, Better Homes and Garden, Woman's Weekly, Scrapbooking Ideas, Country Living, Hats for the season.

This just came together while waiting for the girls to finish there work.
The writing reads - Show your true colours, Stand out and BE Yourself, Make a statement.

I finished my Wanted Poster. The girls thought it was very sweet.

Can't really see these but I went see through ATCs. One for each season - Signs of Spring, Let it snow, Colours of Autumn, The heat of Summer. How I created them was putting them through the laminator.

Two weeks of CEDM creativeness

This morning when I went to go outside I was greated with this sight. The pups have grown so much over the last couple of days and they are now becoming quite adventures. Plus due to the hot hot weather we are having at the moment the pups are camping under the house with the other dogs and it is funny listening to them play and explore as we hear everything through the floor boards.

Two weeks of Creative Everyday Month is over and already my A5 display folder has a variety of creativeness. Here is a sample of some of the things I have started/finished/experimented with so far

November 1st – Erased Turtle Shell

I drew this on the back of a piece of card stock with a pen then sanded the opposite side to revel the shell. Not 100% happy with the way it turned out but I did complete it while sitting on the edge of a river.

November 2nd – Colourful Garden

This was some fun I had with gel pens. I had been in the garden most of the day so the garden theme was on my mind.

November 3rd – Sewing Flower Display and start of Down on the Farm

Don't know how this one came about but something different for me to do while I watch TV. Am hoping to finish Down on the Farm next week at work.

November 4th and November 5th – Didn't do anything on either of these two days as I was working for one of the and didn't feel like doing anything after work and the other day I just ran out of time after doing paper work and house work for most of the day.

Did this doodle picture which has no theme or anything just doodle while on the phone.

November 6th – ICE Penguin and Mount Oxley in Pencil

I was watching Ice Age 2 and this is the picture that turned up on my page while I was doodling. I love the penguin which is funny as there are no penguins in Ice Age 2.

The Mount Oxley picture is part of the girls school work. We have four different tasks to do over the next couple of weeks so will be including them all.

November 7th – Mount Oxley in Paint and the start of a Wanted Poster.

Haven't finished this Mount Oxley painting yet as I will finish it with the girls when we go back to the school room.

One of the girls has a unit on Bushrangers this term and one of the activities she has chosen to do is a wanted poster. So we experimented today with tea and coffee stained pages to make the background. This page was created by fully dunking the page in a coffee and tea mix then adding coffee on the back to create the darker spots for a more aged look. Will be finishing this poster when I return to the school room.

November 8th - Nothing to record on this day due to drafting goats all day in the heat and not having any energy left when I got home.

Novemebr 9th - Plant Sketch

You can't really see the plant but I found it while we were down at the river fishing and thought I would try and sketch it as I have never seen it before.

November 10th - Owl drawing

I found an art book for children while I was on camp this week and I really liked the way they drew the owls so while having my morning coffee while the childen at the camp all slept I started to draw this picture. Hopefully I will add more to it over the next few weeks.

November 11th and 12th - Dots and Lines

One of the sessions the children did while on the camp this week was Aborignial Art works. I started this canvas to help show the children some of the different techniques that was used. There are four different areas in this picture - where I live - the swirls painted with dots, what I can here - the river and the fish swimming, what I can touch - the flowers in the neighbours garden and what I can see - which is the big purple area one as I haven't finished it yet - it will be the dogs in the back yard.

This is a close up of the flowers. This technique would have to be my favourite on the canvas so far. draw the pattern into the wet paint then add the dots when it is dry.

This was the storm front that appeared on Thursday night. We had gale force winds that blew a few trees over in the neighbours yard and well as blowing my strawberry patch guard to the tennis courts three house blocks away. Even though the wind scared me I quite enjoyed watching the sunset.

Lots of Photos and ABC

This morning when I woke up I decided I wanted to do some sewing so that's what I did. I have started to make a patchwork teddy bear that I saw in the Better Homes and Garden Magazine. If they work the way I am hoping there might be more made in the future - some purple and blue maybe.....
Here is my progress. I have been hand sewing them as Jason was still in bed asleep and I didn't want to wake him with the sewing machine going.
The Pattern Pieces

All the Pieces cut out - I saw these material colours when I was in Spotlight when in Dubbo earlier this month and bought them cause I liked the colours - I didn't have any idea what I was going to use them for. Now I do....

The Nose and Ears sewn up and that's as far as I got. My fingers became sore from holding the fabric tight. Might do some more later or tomorrow.
My first attempt at a cappuccino made with the coffee machine Jason and I were given as a wedding gift. I think I will need a lot more practice before I invite people over for one... :-)

Went rouse abouting with Jason yesterday and it had been looking like it was going to storm all day. Well at lunch time it let go. We had 80 sheep that couldn't fit in the shed so they got soaked. There was water every where but when J.S emptyed the rain gauge it only had 6 ml....... The rain was all gone with in 15 minutes and the sun was out again. Unfornately it wasn't very wide spread.

This guy gave me such a fright. I walked out of the front door at work and only saw it's tail. Well first thought it was a snake and where was J. When I walked ever so slowly around the corner to find a shovel and to see what sort of snake it was, I was surprised with what I saw. I called J over and we both watched this guy have a drink. As J told her teacher "I couldn't see the water but the baby goanna could."

I love this flower - Fringed Lily - I have taken to sketching/doodling it when I have a spare moment instead of my normal daisy flowers

They are getting so fat. The puppies are starting to explore now not going far out of the kennel but coming out all the same. Gave them a drink of milk this morning and I wish I had a video camera to flim them drinking it, they would dip their whole nose in then they would lick the milk off the other puppies while they had their face licked.

Where has the month gone....

Well what a month.................... Where has it gone? We are already over half way through October before we know it it will be Christmas and then 2010........Where has my year gone?

The only good thing about this year I have actually achieved so much on my want to do in my life list that I don't mind that it has gone quickly.

I found this on Ali Edwards blog sight when I was reading it the other day and thought it was a good way to sum up what is happening right here and now. Here is my version

Outside my window....The wind is blowing like crazy and it is howling through the windows.

I am thinking …......... that I really don't have time for blogging today but I am going to blog anyway

I am thankful for.....Jason and my family and friends who support me no matter what I do.

From the Kitchen....I can here the kettle boiling ready for my 2nd cup of morning coffee – Hazelnut Latte Yum

I am wearing....my oldest pair of shorts that should be thrown out but they are so comfy and my old hot pink work t-shirt

I am creating.... a list of things that I would like to complete this week while I am at home.

I am going....to spring clean the house again to remove all the dust, and to make some changes in the furniture arrangements

I am hoping.....that it will rain out here over everyone's place so that the drought will finish and so that we stop having these dust storms.

I am hearing.....The Best Of The Country Music Channel 2007 playing on my computer

Around the house.....there is a huge mess in my spare room – due to unpacking and repacking storage boxes from under the bed – I didn't realise I had so much STUFF..

One of my favourite things.... spending time with Jason on the river just cruising....

A picture to share....

While also serving the web today I remembered Creative Everyday Month which is in November. I am definitively joining up for it again. I have a small A5 display folder which I am going to use to keep all my work in the one spot. I am also going to do what I did last year a try and use a variety of mediums and types of craft over the month. I have written a list down of all the things I would like to use that I have found while cleaning up and things that I am going to do. Here it is so far:-textas – plain and metallic, pencils – lead, coloured and metallic, paints – water colour, poster, acrylic, crackle medium paint, crayons – wax, normal, metallic, pastels. Different creations – drawings, paintings, sketching, cross stitch, felt work, jewelery making, cards, sewing. And what ever else I happen to be doing.....

That's all I have time for today. While home this week i will hopefully have time to update my blog with some more stuff.

Back In The Land Of The Living

Hello to everyone,
It has been 105 days since I last wrote. Where has the time gone.....
It is only 105 days till the start of the New Year.....Where has the year gone.....

Where do I begin with what has happened in those last 105 days......mmmmm

First thing to talk about would be I am now married to Jason and so far in our nearly two weeks of marriage things haven't changed apart from us having less space in the house due to all our lovely gifts - Thanks Everyone..... We love them all.

Secondly our trip to Europe was amazing. I saw so much and experienced so many new things that I will remember them for a long time. It was an experience that I am glad to have experienced but I ws glad to come home. I am not much of a big city girl, to many people for me.

Thirdly due to new rules in the education department I am no longer able to access my blog during the week so will only bebale to blog on the week ends or when I have access to H's computer.

I will only be able to post photos on the weekends hence the fact that this blog entry doesn't have photos.

What else has been happening in the last 105 days....

On my way to and from work I pass a big patch of Sturt Desert Pea. They are a rear sight out here and I have taken lots and lots of photos of them. I have also been creative with my wruiting skills and wrote a acrostic poem about them which I will include in my next blog entry along with some photos.

Last weekend was the annual Louth/Trilby Scrap Booking Retreat. Thanks To Gabie for organising a wonderful weekend and to all the ladies who attended. It was lots of fun. Only 359 days till the next one.......

Shelley, my dog is due to have pups again soon. This time we did want her to have pups (not like last time). The father of the pups is Jason's black dog called Dog. We have a bet on what colour they will be. Any one want to join in.... Shelley is nearly pure white and Dog is apart from his toes pure black. I think they will be like Dalamations.

I have gone the whole of winter without having a cold and what hppens....... I now have one. Blocked nose, sore throat, head aches, ear aches, cough..... I have the lot..... I am slowly getting over it but the forever changing temperture isn't helping - cool mornings, warm to very warm days, cool to cold evenings.

Well I think that is about it. I will hopefully post on the weekend with some very random photos from the past 105 days. Along with a few craft/journal/knitting/wall art/inchies/creative everyday entries.

HI Everyone

Where has the time gone? I seem to be running out of time and there are not enough hours in the day for me to complete everything that is written on my to do list.

Apart from having the flu and staying in bed, not having internet access (still not working properly at home) being away, rain and wet roads I suppose the reason that I am so busy is I have two major things in my life happening this year and I need to have them orgainsed before they can happen.

What are those two major things you ask?

- Number one is in July – Jason and I are off over seas to Europe/Germany for a month

- Number two is in September – Jason and I are getting married

So as you can see I have a bit on my plate at the moment. Both are good things just lots to get orgainsed.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to MY LITTLE SISTER TRUDY who celebrated her birthday and is longer a “Teen”, on the first of June along with my grandmother and HAPPY 2nd Birthday to RYAN – one cheeky little Boy :-)

This Red Robin was a very patient Bird. It took me six photos before I managed to have it focus - the sun was directly behind him so I had to keep moving around him.

A bower Birds nest/bow that is near where Jason is staying at the moment. It always has new things each time I look at it.

I am lucky enough to know a person who has an opal mine - he was showing me some of the opals that he had when he was up and this one had to be my favourite. I love the circle patterns in it.

Here is one of the Zebra Finch nests that we have under our tank stand at home. There are three of them - when I hang the washing out I can hear the baby birds calling out to their parents. They have all left home now but I am hoping they will be back again next breeding season.

I Love this song by Garth Brooks. (have only included the last two verses of the song) The song talks about how her partner went somewhere and never came back and then she went crazy etc
I love this song not because of that reason but the foot prints in the sand – you never see her but her foot prints are there.
When we go for our walks in the mornings and afternoons – we see small animal tracks in the sand but we never see the animals that make them and I always think of this song – we never see them but we see where they have been – leaving their foot prints in the sand.Yes call me crazy if you like for relating animal tracks in the sand back to this song but I have thought of it ever since I started walking in the sand and seeing the tracks.

We have some spolit dogs at home - not that Jason will admit it though - this is where Milo (dog at back) and Oates (dog at front) sleep when it gets cold - on the lounge in the back shed. Other dogs sleep on the single seat lounges on the other side.

What a weekend

Firstly HAPPY BELATED MOTHERS DAY to all the mums out there. I hope you all had a realxing day :-)

Saw these tulips in town on Saturday and really wanted to buy some but decided that they wouldn't last in a hot car all day then the rough trip home so took a photo of them instead.

Well I have been busy over the weekend. Busy doing NOTHING!!!! Jason and I decided we wanted to go fishing for the weekend so that is what we did.

The following is my entry in my journal on Saturday morning

Saturday morning around 6.45am on the 9th of May.

Am sitting in front of a fire

waiting for the sun to show it's self through the trees here

All the birds are just starting to wake up and sing their morning tune. The kookuburras have been the loudest so far.

The only thing wrong with this picture is I don't have my morning coffee in my hands as Jason doesn't have a billy any more :-( but apart from that you can't spoil the morning.

We ended up with one good size Darling Cod and some nice size Yellow Belly (which I am cooking for tea tonight out at work) YUMMY

Colours and Nature

Hi Everyone

Lots of colourfull art works happening here.

The girls created these ones - a line one and a circle one each. They are their mother's day gifts for Sunday.

I like how bright they are so had to make two for my self which I will hang in my scraproom when I get home.

My sister Trudy liked the blue line work I did and wanted some so am now creating some for her to hang in her room at Uni. This is how much I have done so far.

This months Creative Everyday Topic is NATURE so I thought what better way to start off this topic with making our own paper. The girls, H and I had lots of fun making the paper as well as making a very large mess.

I won't be making paper again in a hurry but haven't completely wiped it off my to try again list. This is the sunrise I had coming to work on Monday.

Well I had better get back to work.

Hi Everyone
It may be the first of May today but it felt like the first of winter. I had a look at our school thermometre this morning around 7.45 and it was only 4 degrees C. Arrgghh Imagine what winter will be like. Thankfully the days are still warming up.

BACK AGAIN :-)

I am back in the land of INTERNET……….. J J

I have been on holidays (well only at home as it was school holidays so wasn’t working) and on the first day of my three weeks off I went to do some research on the internet and my modem decided it didn’t want to work – after nearly an hour talking to a Telstra person on the phone (half of that time was spent convincing him that Louth was not a suburb of Sydney that is in fact nearly a days drive away) to have them tell me they had no idea what was wrong with the connection and that they were filing a report for me.

I then rang my local Retravision to have them tell me in 2 minutes that my modem was stuffed and that I needed a new one……. Talk about annoying – Jason didn’t come near me for a while due to how annoyed I was with Telstra.

After working that out I then found out that my modem was out of warranty (as things always seem to be for me) so I had to order a new one – guess when it turned up – the day before I had to come back to work…………………

Three weeks with no internet is a very long time……..

I have now had my little Bitch session I can now write about all the fun things I have been up to for the last three weeks.

First and by far most the best thing that has happened is I am an aunty again to Amy Elizabeth. I knew I was going to be an aunty but not in April – Amy was a little early but she is doing okay she will be in the hospital for a little while yet.
I was lucky enough to have a cuddle when I went down to Mum and Dad’s on the weekend. She is so small.

I have also been busy with my April challenge only missing two days with doing everything that I said I wanted to do so am quite proud of my self.

Here are a few snippets from what I have been doing:-

April 3rd – last day of the school term for the girls so I decided to do something fun with them – we did some tie dying and some Baltic dying as well. This was lots of fun. These are a few of the samples I made – The girls did the big pieces of material.

April 5th – HAPPY BIRTHDAY JASON – had a great day spending the whole day with each other tracking down a cow…………………..

April 7th – Accidentally picked up a cross stitching magazine instead of my paper crafting magazine while I was in town – it had a free sample kit with it and I have had some fun cross stitching – I have done cross stitch before but not for a very long time.
April 12th – Jason and I went to My parents place where we had a yummy dinner cooked by my sister Sarah (she received the cooking genes) to celebrate Mum’s birthday which was on Tuesday the 14th. We celebrated it early as it would be the only time that the whole family would be together.

April 14th – HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM – Jason and I got home from My parents late on the 13th as Jason had to work on Tuesday – the phone rang early this morning and I told Jason to answer it as it would be his boss telling him what they were up to for the day – Well I was wrong – it was my brother ringing to tell me that I was an aunty again. Not what we were expecting……

April 23rd - Went to Cobar and and went shopping - I brought myself a new ring - first one on the top row - they are made out of glass - I liked the yellow and green ones on the bottom row but they didn't fit :-(
April 18th – HAPPY BIRTHDAY H – I remembered…..

April 27th - the family I work for have a Southern Boobook Owl living in their shed. He/she hasn’t been there for ages and he/she returned in the holidays so we now say hello to him/her when we go for a morning walk/jog and our afternoon one. We think there may be two of them as he/she isn’t always the same size.

Was feeling dotty one day during the holidays so I created these gift cards.

HI Everyone
HAPPY APRIL.
I can't believe that we are already into our fourth month of the year. Lots happening that the year seems to be going very quickly. It is going to go even quicker now that I have lots to oraginse before the end of the year.

Only 94 till we fly out to Germany. The tickets arrived in the mail on Friday so it is really starting to become more real. Now have to start thinking about clothes and what else I need to take. Already have my scrap journal bases ready with lots of blank pages and spaces for photos. Will take some photos and post them when I have a chance.

Lots happening in my art and craft area but have no photos for you. I am hoping to put the drawings and paintings into the Bourke show which is on the 2nd of May and I don't want to display my work until after the show. So look out for a very busy blog post after the 2nd of May.

Have created an April Month challenge for my self. I want to do the 365 project again this year but just didn't get started so have decided to challenge myself for the 30 days of April.

This is my challenge:-
:- part 1 - take at least six photos per day (one nature related)
:- part 2 - decorate one page per day with something colourful - painting, drawing, stickers, etc
:- part 3 - stick in one magazine/newspaper/internet "thing" per day ie:- story, advettisment, colour combo, cool photo etc
:- part 4 - record at least 4 things that happened for the day
:- part 5 - record one thing that made me laugh or smile

I will keep you posted on my progress when I have the chance. I am completing this challenge in an A4 spiral visual arts book, so have lots of space to record my challenge items.

We have finished school here for the term at work and we are now Easter crafting and getting things ready for the Bourke show.

Lots of music being played - Girls like the sound track to Mamma Mia and they nearly know all the songs off by heart - sometimes good - sometimes scary :-)

Well I am off to do some more drawings/paintings for the Bourke show.

VERY LONG POST

I am back and I have lots to share with you all. I seem to have found my creative mo-jo over the weekend. Didn’t do much but started doodling and drawing which made me smile and realize I love being creative.

Some of my creative stuff to share with you

Stuff One: - Have knitted two more teddy bears. The green and blue one reminds me of Sully off Monster Inc. (Children’s Movie) and the smaller one I knitted because Jason’s mum challenged me to make a small bear so I did. Could have made it smaller but would have needed smaller needles and finer yarn but it’s the smallest I have made.
Stuff Two: - Flowers and more flowers. Pencil, crayon and pencil shavings.

Stuff Three: - My five minute drawing. I saw this challenge in a children’s art book. Using texta’s or crayons draw a hilly scene with some detail but spend no more then five minutes in drawing it. So basically you start with the out line and then you colour in and add more detail until your time runs out.
Stuff Four: - I found a really great website which you can make your own pattern paper. This is one that I created then coloured. Found it very relaxing just to colour.
Stuff Five: - Yellow inchies – this was the theme for the inchy by inch website two weeks ago. I created them one mini sticky notes.

Stuff Six: - Down in the Garden - Post Card - One of the 100 ideas activities was to create a post card with something happening on it. Well all the bugs and insects have come out in my garden and are being very active so the bugs on the post card remind me of all the things happening in the garden.

Couple of photos for you now.

Remember the tadpoles that the girls have as school pets well they are growing into frogs. This one is Bob.

Rain Rain glorious Rain – this was two weeks ago – and inch in about two hours – lots of puddles to go walking in and playing in.

Lost my craft attitude

Hi everyone

Just a quick post saying I won't be posting anything for a while. I just haven't been in the mood to do anything crafty - drawing, painting, writing, sewing, knitting, any of my usual stuff.

I haven't even written in my scrap journal - last entry was the 18th of Feb.

So I have decided to take a break from everything crafty.

Hopefully in a few weeks I will get my creative swing back and have lots to share with you all.

Mixed Day

Well What a Day - It's one of those days where I wish I could climb back into bed and not face it. But It is nearly the end of the day. So surely no more can go wrong.....

I have prepared a roast leg of lamb for tea with the works baked potato, pumpkin, sweat potato, onion and cauliflower and cheesy white sauce. Yummy and it's nearly time for drinks. So things are looking up.

Just a few quick things.
Here are two photos taken by Jason's Boss's wife while they were flying around. This was after they recieved the four inches at the house - no idea what was out here but it's a lot of water........

Here are a couple of felt cuties that I have been working on. Orange Ghost, White and Orange giraffe, toadstool house, bone and a mythical water creature. All sitting in the box of rose petals waiting to be turned into perfumed bags.

The girls thought our tadpoles need some colour in their tank so they added some leaves. Have to do some research over the weekend to find out more about tadpoles and looking after them.

New School Room Pets

Two post in one day must have time.......

We have new pets in the school room. The girls are really happy that they are allowed to have these pets.

We haven't named them yet but they are thinking of names for them. It takes about two months before they form into frogs so looks like we will have them for a while. The girls want to keep the frogs when they are fully grown... We will have to see about that.

The water looks really yuck - from the side - but the frogs don't like clear water.
We feed them frozen lettuce leaves - they turn to algea form when they are in the water which makes it easier for the tad poles to eat.
Will keep you all posted as to how they are developing.

Busy Sketching

HI Everyone
Where do I start???? I have been so busy the last couple of days with work and at home that I seem to be chancing my tail to get things done - but at the same time I feel like I have done everything that I need to be doing.
Muggy weather today which isn't helping my train of thoughts as them seem to be as cloudy as ever today.

On with my art work as this I have been able to think clearly about.

TO:- this sketch I filled the squares randomly with To.... then drew pictures to represent each To.... - for example To Live - This art work came about from the song To Live Laugh and Love by I think Kenny Chesney, which was playing in the background when I opened my book. TO LIVE

Everything seems to be growing in my garden now after the rain we had which is a good thing as I thought all my trees were dying on me.

While I was supervising the girls in the pool it started to rain/mist. I was doodling faces and liked the way the rain/mist on my page helped bring out the colours in the pastels.

Cooler Today

How is Everyone? It is a lot cooler today then when I last wrote as well as a lot wetter. On Monday we had nearly 2 inches of rain here at work. We had over 5 inches at home and Bourke had over 9 inches. There is water lying here at work and H and I have been walking with the girls in the water each after noon. Will up load some photos when I have a chance.
The cooler weather is also nice. To think this time two weeks ago our school thermeter was reading above 40 every afternoon and this week I don't think we have hit the 20 mark. I am not complaining but some more rain would be nice.
I am unable to get home due to the rain so will be out at work for two weeks unless we have more rain.
The Hello photo above is my large writing artwork. The letters are just under two metres high. I wrote it on one of the clay flats out the back of the property where I work.

Since writing last time I have been to South Australia and back 3007km round trip. Jason had the week off and so did I so we decided to head down to SA for some fishing and some R&R.

Jason and I on the longest wooden jetty in Australia. 1.5km to the end.

Not many photos from the trip as they are still on camera will upload some more when I have a chance. Now for some other bits and pieces that I have been doing.

Brought myself a paper quilling set while I was away for a whole $1. Had some fun trying it out while traveling in the car. I think I will enjoy adding some paper quills to my artworks.

Here are my two pirates. Saw a really old ship and thought it looked like a pirate ship so while Jason fished on the jetty I drew the pirates that were sitting on the ship watching us. I was kind of bored and frezzing so was coming up with silly ideas to distract me from the cold weather.

While we were jetty fishing at night the full moon came up over the town. I wanted to try out my camera skills and took these photos of the moon reflecting in the sea water, at different hieghts.Then I just had some fun. Love these effects. Am going to use them for backgrounds in my journal.

Last but not least, I saw an art work while I was away that was made up of squares the a variety of pictures drawn in them. I decided I could do this so drew up a page 6 x 10 inch squares and drew. Here is my finally masterpiece.

HI Everyone

Well our temperture prediction for today is 47 degrees C. It is already 38 on my verandah and it's not even 10 o clock yet. I think lots of things will be done inside today under the air con and lots of water sprayed about for the animals.

Here are some word arts I have been completeing over the last two days.

If you remember HALCYON is my word for 2009 - this art work is to hang in the school room near my desk to remind me to have Halcyon Days.
This one isn't very clear but it says:-

ANd it has a picture to go with all the words. I drew this while watching my favourite TV show last night Ghost Whisper. I wasn't concentrating on what I was drawing, I just drew.

Live Laugh and Love, This is on a clear plastic sheet which I am going to hang on our school room window just to add some colour to it.

When I cleaned up my scrap/spare room I found lots of letter stickers which I had put away due to not having enough of the right letters to make words. I saw a letter collage on a website and thought I would try it.

I am happy with the results. This is one of Five that I created. The others are already hanging on my wall at home so will include photo of them when I get around to it.

I have also been busy making 3D objects but due to not having my camera connection am unable to put photos onto the computer. Hopefully I will beable to post them on my blog tomorrow when I am home.

Something I found on the net while surfing yesterday was a lady in USA who has a hedgehog as a pet. You have to have a permit to have one and they take a lot of looking after, having to wash their quills and then dry them Ouch!! Some people have the strangest pets.

Well That's about all for today. Am off to do some more watering and spraying then house cleaning.

HOT HOT HOT

HI everyone

What a HOT time we are having..... Finally the summer heat has hit us. Don't know about other people but I haven't been doing to much out in the heat. Well trying not to any way - things still need to be attended to.

Well I am back at work - teaching that is. The school term started on Monday for us out here but we started last week as the girls are away this week - they have gone to the beach :-( So I am at work looking after all the animals as it is too hot not to have someone here.

I can't believe we are already in Febuary, where is the year going???????

Well I have some more "STUFF" to share with you all that I have been doing over the last week.

Stuff One:- I loved my felt flowers that I had to make some more.

I haven't added any faces as I don't have my felt pens so will add them when I get home.

Stuff Two:- Valentines day is not to far away so I am starting to make some gifts for my friends and loved ones.

Stuff Three:- I am experimanting with my scrap journal this month and wanted to try something completely different. So I have laminated some pages with glitter and cellophane in them for my journal covers. Love the thickness that they came out - am going to use splits rings to hold it all together.

Stuff Four:- One of my 100 ideas was to write the instructions for a puppet. I made them while I wrote the instructions. They are only 10cm high. Don't know where they will live but the the girls I teach like them so they might become school mascots with Cheeky the School Monkey.

Stuff Five:- I refound my chalk pastels and thought I would have some fun with them. The next two pictures are drawn on canvas which will have another two when I get home which will then be hung in a block on my scrap/spare room wall.

Stuff Six:- Another pastel drawing. I wanted to see a pink tree for some reason so that is what I created.

Stuff Seven:- Just Bright Colours and Happy things.......

This Month the CED topic is WORDS

Here are two things I have created yesterday and the day before.

Well I have lots of things to get done today so I had better be going so as to complete these things. Then the pool will be on the agenda. I went for a swim early this morning while the birds were still singing their morning songs and it was so relaxing.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ME

It is 14 after midnight. So it is my birthday (only just). I am 25 to day or as a few people are telling me I'm half way to Fifty. Have not long come back from the pub and am not really tired so thought I would update my postings as I have been away and haven't done so for some time.

If you look closly in this self portrait you can see the two marks on my nose. I hit myself with the gun scope. BOY did it hurt - brought tears to my eyes, I think I might have damaged some part of my nose as it is still sore after 10 days.

Where do I start?????? I have done so much "STUFF" in the last eight days I don't really know where to start. Let me just have a bit of a think.......

First thing after looking at myphotos and scrap journal would have to be the spectaular, breath taking, amazing, unbelieveable lighting show we had here on Thursday night. Jason and I sat and watched the storms build up for over three hours. Unfortuntenly we only recieved 36 points (9mls) It built up again tonight but we only got dust no lighting.
This is one of the better shots I took of the show. 100 photos (contingous shooting) and I have 20 good ones so am ery happy with myself. :-)
Now onto all the STUFF I have been doing. I don't think I will write about the "stuff" unless I think it needs explaining. So here goes

STUFF ONE:- Devils Claw Sculpture (don't know it's proper name but that's what I call it)
Where I work they have devils claw which is a weed that gets stuck in the sheep and on everything else I found a heap of them while I was out walking and I wanted to make a sculpture with them. So here it is

As you can see it has a seed pod and then two really long claws coming out of it. The end of the claws are very sharp hooks that catch onto the sheep as they walk past.

STUUF TWO:- Paper Flowers

I have made these to put in the school room as my desk arrangement.

STUFF THREE:- Bead "E"

STUFF FOUR:- COLOURED STAMPS

Did some stamping with the children - only had silver ink so we coloured them in with textas.

STUFF FIVE:- Pink Mouse and Beaded Key Ring

Made the mouse cause I thought he was cute. The key ring is now on my scrap journal to give it a bit of colour.

STUFF SIX:- Water Ballon Painting

Saw this done on a movie and wanted to try it - filled water ballons with ink and then popped the balloons. Didn't work out as well as I had wanted (need thicker paint) but had fun creating the art work - try filling water balloons with paint and you will know what I mean.

STUFF SEVEN:- Bomb Man

One of the children wanted a bomb to go with his rabbit and mouse that we had been making - we didn't have a pattern for him to follow so I created one. I think he turned out alright.

(Date is in correct - didn't realise it was turned on to print on photos)

STUFF EIGHT:- More Necklaces.

Well that's it for my "STUFF" I have been having lots of fun just PLAYING with different things.

Leah has put up the new month challenge for CED and it is "WORDS". It will interesting to see how people use this challenge.

Any way I am now off to bed. I am going fishing for my birthday (there is a Carp Muster on here in town - you catch Carp and then you go into the draw to win prizes. For those of you who don't know Carp aren't a very good fish to have in the river they eat all the food and they are not native to Australia) so hopefully I might win something.

More Fun things

HI Everyone

Well it is HOT here today and I mean HOT. It is also muggy which is making the day seem worse. Hence the fact most of my to do jobs today are based inside.

Have a look at my groovy snow tree. It came in a science pack that I had ordered to do with the girls I look after. You poor the liquid over the cardboard tree and wait.

This is what the tree looked liked after an hour of me pooring the liquid on it.

This was what the tree looked like the next morning. I think it looks like snow. It is sitting on my desk and when ever I look at it I wish it was cold enough for snow because it is so hot at the moment.

I have also been doing some of the 100 ideas by Keri Smith. I have completed eight of them already. I am doing them while watching TV or when I am waiting for other things to finish.

Oops. Sorry I didn't realise it was the wrong way until now.
Also Sorry about the clearness but I was unable to get a clear shot of them. You can see that the items are all based on different things.

Jason's second cousins are up staying with their Nan and Pop and they were doing crafty things yesterday so I joined in on the fun. We created Plaster of Paris things using models that Jason;s Mum had hidden away.
I created the following animals. We then painted them later that day. I love my green frog.
These little guys are lined up along my wall in front of the computer. I like the brown wombats the best.

They also liked my felt flowers that I had made so I helped them make some for themselves. I made another gumnut flower so at "J" (12) says I now have a Mum and a Dad cause the one with the beard can be the Dad and the pink one can be the Mum. Are you going to make baby gumnut flowers? This made me start thinking. I am now trying to design a gumnut flower that is not open fully to be the babies.

HI Everyone
Jason decided to have a easy day yesterday so we watched movies for most of the day. This was good for me as I did some craft that i had been wanting to do for a while.

Playing with water colour pencils - they needed sharpening so I used the shavings to create this picture rubbing them with my fingers then I drew the flowers when I had finished.
Found a pattern ages ago for Australian felt flowers - I finally made some:-

Mary Poppins was on TV last night and it is one movie that I really enjoy. This is the page of drawings that I did while watching it.

Art Work and Puppies

Guten Tag (Hello) everyone,

Well I finally sat down yesterday and played creativily - I should have done this earlier on this year as it was quite relaxing. I experimented with my art work - or played with some ideas.

The first was painting on mirrors. I had some cheap mirror squares that I wanted to put up - they aren't clear enough to see yourself in so I thought about painting on them.

These were the results -

I painted my word onto the mirrors - I can look at the word and "reflect" on how I have used it in my days.

I also did a nine square wall collage - I painted, inked and drew - leaves, flowers and a insect - then stuck them on cardboard then onto the wall. Depending on the time of day different parts shine onto the other walls making patterns - somethng I wasn't expecting.

While in town the other day I found a mini badge maker and I couldn't help myself I had to buy one. I created these badges then clipped them onto my "found" silver dress necklace - Jason reckons I look like a "hippie"....

I am also trying another painting which is a work in progress - I found it in a activity book to do with children - Wet then freeze a piece of paper - take it out and paint on it - place more water on top freeze again - paint another layer - repeat until the painting is finished - defrost paper and then leave to dry. Am up to my third layer today - am working with water paints, water pencils and water crayons to create layers.

My New/Rearranged Scrap/spare room

Well it has only taken me 8 days but I have finally finished rearranging my scrap/spare room and I can now see the floor :-)
Couple of photos to show you.....

There is so much natural light in this room that it makes it so enjoyable to be in here.

My Computer desk and pinboards and art work that I Love....

- My pin boards were empty when I started cleaning my room - I decided it being a new year I would start a fresh - well it didn't take long for me to find things to pin up that inspire me and make me happy.

- I am into flowers at the moment so I have lots of vases of fake flowers around my area - the big ones behind the computer are the ones that Jason bought for me for Christmas - He said that real ones won't last so will these do? - Boy - do I love Him

My scrapjournalling and craft table...... - The wooden slate at the back has all my dried roses hanging on it - I don't like fresh roses but I do like them dried - don't have any roses growing myself but myGrandmother has lots of them and she doesn't mind me picking and drying them
- Not very clear but next to the teddy bears on the left hand side of the desk are four triangle shaped jars that my other Grandmother gave me - Trudy (sister) said that they would look good filled with a mixture of lollies - Thanks for the idea Trudy - it has red frogs and chicko babies in the two smaller ones and in the middle size it has a mixture of Sherbets, Milkos and Red Skins. They have a good seal on them which is good.
- I also have my Troll and my Camel (Getin') on my desk as well - They keep watch over everything for me as well as reminding me of good times that I have had.
- The book that is open and the paper on my desk is an activity that I did last year around this time and when I found my book I decieded that I wanted to do it again - It is called - 100 ideas - by Keri Smith - you can find her at www.kerismith.com and click on 100 ideas - the idea is to cut up the squares then pull one out when ever you want and complete what is on the square. I will be posting these when i complete each one.

One more thing for this post - While cleaning up I found some of Jason's old CD's which he use to listen to in the shearing sheds - I know there is a bit of an age gap between us but apart from three of the artists I have never heard of any of them - I am currently playing them and so far they aren't to bad - Not what I was expecting though. Espically for Shearing Shed Music.

Well the sun is out and it has dried the lawn so I am out to do some mowing - five hours in this room I am ready for some fresh air.

Everything happening at once.....

It is the 7th of January and I have hardly done anything on my to do list that I wanted to have completed by the 9th of January. Looks like I will have two very busy days ahead of me.......

Don't you just love technology...... Since rearranging my scrap/spareroom I have not been able to reconnect with the internet - it just kept telling me that there was no signal even when it was in the orginal spot where I did have service - so I rang the lovely people who I get my internet connection through and told them nicely that if they didn't fix my internet connection I would not be a nice person to know - they are sending me a different modem so hopefully when that arrives I will have better connection - instead of it dropping out all the time. How do you ask am I typing this at the moment - well it is raining here and very overcast so I am assuming that the clouds are helping transmit the signal from the tower. Probably not but that is what I am hopeing.

This is the sunset that we watched yesterday - we didn't recieve any rain out of it but it is raining now and it is good soaking rain not heavy.

The puppies are well and truly growing up - Jason gave them a bit of roo meat and boy did they love it. They chewed on it like this for nearly half an hour before it was all gone. - left to right - Oated, Coco and Chowchow.

I said in my last post that I was going to paint and rearrange my scrap/spareroom - Well I did manage to rearrange it but I haven't painted it as when I went to town yesterday they didn't have the colours that I wanted so I have put painting off for a while - it might be a spur of the moment thing one weekend.

I loving the way I have set the room up. It still isn't fully set up and clean but I have started on it today and have completed clearing the table and am going to start on the bed after I have finished on the net. Will show you the end results when it is clean.

My cute green frog that posed for a photo. My mother in law to be dosen't like frogs and this one was sitting in front of her air conditioner. I was asked to remove it from her house yard so brought it over home. He just sat like that on the ground after I put him down. So natural I raced to get the camera. I love big green frogs - they are a sign of mositure is coming out here.

Lucky last photo - at the moment we have a flow going past town and has made te river rise over one metre - Jason went to get the boat out so I went for a swim - this is me trying to swim up stream but the water currant is quite strong so I wasn't going any where. Good body work though.
Well I had better get back to my cleaning up - Jason should be home soon and I still haven't done the breakfast dishers so I had better get a move on.

Plans for 2009

Hi Everyone

Must be orgainsed as this is my second post for today. Me organised Ha Ha Ha.

Jason has decided that it is a no work day so he is having a quite drink at the pub with two mates while I am surfing the net.

Finding lots of new things and just visiting regular websites catching up with everyone.

My plans for 2009? Where do you want me to begin........

I am taking on the "One Word Challenge" Where you choose one word that you can reflect back on through out 2009. My word for 2009 is HALCYON.

HALCYON [hal-see-uhn]
1. calm; peaceful; tranquil: halcyon weather.
2. rich; wealthy; prosperous: halcyon times of peace.
3. happy; joyful; carefree: halcyon days of youth.
4. of or pertaining to the halcyon or kingfisher.–noun
5. a mythical bird, usually identified with the kingfisher, said to breed about the time of the winter solstice in a nest floating on the sea, and to have the power of charming winds and waves into calmness.
6. any of various kingfishers, esp. of the genus Halcyon.

Why have I choosen this word you ask - well I had quite a list of words that I wanted to use and "Calm" was one of them. I them looked up "calm" in my thesaurus and found Halcyon. I had never heard of this word so looked up the meaning at www.dictionary.com and decided that was the word for me.
In 2009 I want to be all of the things that the dictionary meaning says - I just didn't know there was a word to describe it all. PLus I love watching the Rainbow Bee Eaters at work and they are a type of Kingfisher - so it is kind of scary that I have found this word.

This year I am also partaking in the Creative Everyday Challenges (see side bar) and I love the topic Leah has choosen for us - PLAY - I will be doing lots of playing with my art - I found so many things through my cleaning/detoxing/rearranging that I don't know where to begin. I will be keeping you all up to date with what ever I create.

I am also doing my daily scrap journalling which I will include in the odd blog post - depending on what I am doing.

What else am I doing this year?????? I am planning on my trip over seas to Germany. Only 26 weeks and I will hopefully be on the side of the world. I am so looking forward to my trip but am also a little scared - Jason said it will be a real eye opener for me - going for a town with 40 people to towns with over 10000........... I WILL SURVIVE!

That is about all I can think of at the moment that I will be doing in 2009. I will let you know if anything more comes up.

I had better go - more net surfing to do...

Well Another year is over and a new one has just begun.......

Jason and I spent New Years Eve with friends at the local pub. We were lucky enough to have some fire works as well. Don't know who enjoyed the fireworks more, the children or the adults.

HI Everyone.

Well I am finally home and am starting to have a major clean up before the New Year. I am leaving it a bit late only 2 days to go but when I am under pressure I get so much more done.
Am detoxing eevry thing - I have started in my scrap room and so far I have a major mess, two bags of rubbish, one bag to take to work so the girls can use the stuff, a pile of things I had forgotten I had and an even larger pile of things that I don't know what I will do with. I was hoping to paint my scrap room/corner before the new year but they didn't have the right paint colour that Jason and I want so will have to wait until the new year.

I am also doing lots of work in the garden - have planted six new fruit trees - two plum, two mango, one almond and one apricot. I also am prepareing the garden to plant more lawn. I am sick of looking at weeds and the buffalo will over grow the weeds. I don't mind mowing lawn but I don't like mowing weeds - it just never seems to look neat and tidy.

Shelley's puppies were five weeks old yesterday and I am surprised at how much they have grown and how active they have become.

We are keeping Coco and Oates and Chow Chow is going to some friends here in town. The one near her back leg is Coco and the one at the front is Chow Chow - Oates is hiding behind Chow Chow.

Remember all those teddy Bears I was knitting - well My Mum finished sewing them up for me. I Love them all. I have ended up with three of them - the rest have been given to good homes. THANK YOU MUM.

Before Christmas H and I were in town for swimming lessons for the girls and we were down the street shopping when we saw these fresh flowers in one of the shops. Due to having a two hour trip home and it being hot we were unable to purchase any of the flowers but the lovely shop owner said that I could take a photo of them. I love fresh flowers - big bright and bold.

THANKS AGAIN TO MY VERY CLEVER MUM.

She has made me new curtains for our main bedroom - They have brightened the room up - now all I need to do is give it a coat of paint as well - will see how the spare room turns out first.

Last but not least my friend Jul's has tagged me with a question - What are five things you do to help keep you mentally well.

1 - Journalling - I am always writing things down wether it be about my day, things I hear on the news or quotes that I read. I love spending time just sitting and writing what ever comes to mind.

2 - Photography - As Jason says - That camera is part of you. It goes ever where with me.

3 - Reading - I love to read - books, magazines, newspapers, webpages.

4 - Learning New Things - I have a need to learn new things - If I am not studying a course I am looking for new things to try or make.

5 - Walking - I don't do this one enough but I love walking in the early mornings or in the evenings when everything is waking up or going to bed - It is so relaing and helps me clear my mind of everything that has been happening.

I am suppose to tag 5 other people but I am going to do the same as Jul's if you wish to answer the question please do. If you do let me know so I can have a look.

Any way I had better be going more cleaning to do and I can hear the washing machine beeping at me to say that it has finished.
